Welcome to Alhambra!

We are one of the Pacific Northwest Chapters of the Adrian Empire, a national non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the arts and skills of Western European culture between 1066 and 1603. We also include other cultures that commonlyinteracted with Europe .during our time frame.

The Good Gentles of Alhambra reside in the counties of Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Okanogan, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane & Stevens in WA. We also have the following Counties that we share with other Chapters in the Pacific Northwest: Asotin, Garfield, Grant, and Klickitat, WA, plus Kootenai and Latah, ID. Our populace resides mostly in the areas around Spokane WA and Moscow ID.

The website/host have been giving us problems for many months and is getting increasingly problematic. IF you cannot find the info you are looking for, please call our Duchess, Dame Caolainn at 509-850-7179, or use the Contact Us form and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

We are planning a new website but some hoops and technicalities have to be solved before we can implement it. Stay tuned.

Also, Yahoo Groups recently changed their format, which also changed their web address. If you are having trouble getting to the Alhambra Groups page, it can be found here:

Combat, Bardic, & Misc. Practice

Practice has been moved to THURSDAY evenings to accommodate the work schedules of some members.

Starting in October, Practice will be alternating from Dame Caolainn's home (The Domicile) in NE Spokane and Sir Griffin & Dame Cryssida's home (McKlaine Manor II) in NW Spokane. If you need directions, please call Dame Caolainn at 509-850-7179

If you would like to host any type of additional practice or related activity, please post it on the Alhambra Yahoo Group. Practices and Craft Nights are unofficial activities and do not need Crown approval.

Normally, during the months of May thru September, weekly Combat Practice is held from 6:00 - 8:00 on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Franklin Park in Spokane WA. Meet at, or near, the covered picnic shelter near the corner of Division and Queen.

Combat Participants: To participate in Adrian combat, all males must have their own athletic cup. Eventually everyone will also need elbow pads, a hooded sweatshirt and gloves. It is also recommended to have knee pads and women should have some sort of chest protection. All skin must be covered, so no shorts or sandals are allowed. We have some loaner gear available, but it is first come, first serve.

In order to participate in combat at any Adrian event, you must first read the Combat Manual, the Marshall's Manual, and the Missle Weapons Manual, plus take the appropriate tests for that style of combat, and be qualified by the Minister of Joust & War or the Crown Marshal. All manuals can be downloaded as PDF files from the main Adrian Empire website, which is listed under Links.
